As we explore the wonders of rare wines, we can’t help but pause on our Orpicchio, a Bianco Toscana IGT, which stands out for its uniqueness and elegance. This wine is a testament to our passion for winemaking and to preserving Tuscan traditions.

Orpicchio DIANELLA, reviewed by Gambero Rosso, is much more than a simple white wine. It is a wine made purely from an ancient grape variety, reaching the market after long ageing in wood.

This project began in 2009, when we discovered an old Trebbiano biotype on the estate; the analyses carried out revealed it to be Orpicchio, a variety only just registered by the university, making it a wine with a precise DNA that recalls Tuscany’s winemaking heritage.

Tasting notes reveal a wine with an intense straw-yellow colour. On the nose, Orpicchio is characterised by intense musky notes that blend perfectly with ripe fruit notes like apricot and peach. Its acidity makes for an extremely pleasant sip.
On the palate, Orpicchio comes across as an elegant, savoury, persistent, mineral and well-balanced wine. Its complexity invites you to savour every sip, while the flavour lingers long after tasting, leaving a memory of traditional Tuscan flavours.
Orpicchio is not just a wine, it’s a journey into the most authentic Tuscany, a testament to ingenuity and a love of viticulture.
